Big Bar Ranch

Big Bar Ranch is 2/3's the way to Vancouver and on the elevated plateau land by the Fraser River before it goes down through the canyon area. The rolling hills and plains spread for miles so horses can gallop for hours here in summer.

After each girl had a short horse ride we were off for a walk on our snow shoes.

Katie was the only girl brave enough to walk on the ice. No she did not break through it.

However, Libby forgot that the shoe is a lot wider and longer than a normal shoe so she caught it on a low branch and could not maintain her balance. Her mother only laughed.

In summer they erect tepees for camping in. The beds and central fireplace can be seen under the snow.
